What a round about route! But, we left New Mexico and drove and drove and drove for three days (though not through the nights) to Charlottesville, Virginia.

In Charlottesville we helped our daughter Kimberly pack her last things into boxes and bags, loaded her car along with the available space in the motor home, and began the journey to Goshen, Indiana. She started a new job two days later.

Our grandson, Spencer, who also lives in Goshen, had his birthday on Wednesday, so we celebrated with him. He walks, runs, babbles, and expresses his wishes with great fervor. His is enamored with any device that has moving parts or buttons to push.

In the evening we celebrated his birthday at a Mexican restaurant-and he got a complimentary ice cream dessert. (He liked his pureed vegetables better than that cold stuff!)

On Friday, after three days of rain, sleet, snow and slush, we headed home and are now back in Hickory House at The Woods. The snow followed us here, so we are enjoying snowy vistas out our windows.

Thus ends our 2013 travels, south by southwest.
