Still in Roswell

We had thought to move on this afternoon, but upon leaving town, our brakes got hot.  We returned, had them checked out and then it was too late to get to our destination before dark, so we headed out to the wildlife refuge and spent the late afternoon. We had a great walk, and along the butterfly trail I found these captured tumbleweeds.

While in Roswell, one must consider UFOs, right?  We went to the International UFO Museum and Research Center and read lots of information on the displays.  Of course, there was much written, documented, speculated upon the 1947 spacecraft crash and US government cover up.  Are we convinced, no, but there is always a ray of possibility.  Here are a couple photos from inside the museum.

Downtown store window displays capitalizing on the phenomenon were interesting.  Here are two of them.

The Roswell Museum and Art Center had excellent exhibits of art, history, and Goddard rocketry. There were many, many Indian and early settler artifacts.  In the historical art, there is a collection by Henrietta Wyeth (daughter of N.C. Wyeth) and her husband Peter Hurd.

We ended the day's traveling with birds and sunsets.
